Growth in Words

Taking this class was definitely a step out of my comfort zone. Online designing was a new experience however I found myself thoroughly enjoying myself. I found that making videos was time consuming, but very enjoyable, and once i mastered some of the shortcuts to Movavi, i felt the hard work paying off and was surprised but how much i liked what i saw coming together one the page. I feel a fresh confidence to  tackle new programs to help me expand design options, and have been excited by the thought of making a cooking blog as a diary for tasty recipes. The videos are easy to transfer and now that I have some tools, i can take my time making my videos look just as professional as the tastey commercials i am constantly drooling over.
Having some deadlines to master these programs has also reminded me just how much sitting and thinking can only get you so far. I've found even when im completely blocked, if i just start writing something , the image of where the piece is going starts to manifest more quickly (and I can always delete those few practice sentences later, after i've got a taste for the story). Ive come out of this experience with two goals. The smaller being a cooking blog, a mishmash of recipes, videos, pictures and more. My more long term goal, while larger, feels much more attainable. I've always wanted to write my own fantasy world. And i always put it off because i want to find the “perfect” story line. But it's got to start coming out onto the paper because so many of the best ideas are getting lost or simply not manifested. I've learned how to manage my writing a little better, and find that little seed of motivation even when it feels like there isn't a drop of creativity in my body.

  1. I feel so fortunate that you were part of this class. You made a difference, you made it fun, you had lots of great things to say, and you were willing to risk your own vulnerability all of the time. I hope you will keep writing--your voice, thoughts, and intellience are needed in the world. Keep me posted on what happens with the jobs. I hope you find something that is as amazing as you are!
