Chapter 1

Hello! My name is Masha and this is actually not my first blog. I tried to start one a few years ago to document what I was sure would be a wild and crazy adventure through life but gave it up for the more traditional pen and paper route. Something about the smell of paper has always seemed sweet and refreshing, and old yellow paper is my absolute favorite to sketch and write on. Books hold the memories of every other paper lover before me, and finding old worn out books with years of peoples secret doodles has always been a favorite pastime of my father and I.
My other great love, or loves I suppose, would be my dog, Red, and my ferret, Ferry Houdini. One planned and one unexpected, kind of like kids. They are great company to myself and each other, and the most enthusiastic taste testers when it comes time for cooking dinner. My job in fine dining allows me to broaden my idea on food and its preparation as well as learn about the beautiful culture of wine. Red definitely doesn't mind the snacks sent home for him! It hasn't been quite the crazy adventure, but every step of the way I get closer to knowing who I want to be and quiet happiness in the contentment I hope to achieve.
